Jeep Soft Tops

One really cool feature that makes Jeep CJs and Wranglers unique is the ability to change tops from hard tops to a variety of soft tops depending on the season or your mood. There are so many Jeep soft top options that we’d like to help explain what each option is. When your Jeep CJ or Wrangler came with a hard top, but no soft top, you will need to decide how much coverage you want. Adding a windshield channel is required to hold the front edge of the top to the windshield. With the channel you can simply add a Summer Brief that covers the front passengers or an Island top to cover all passengers. If you want a top that acts as an Island top, but also has side and rear windows that can be folded down, consider the Bowless Jeep top. The next step for more utility is a Supertop from Bestop that mimics the factory soft top and provides the folding framework, the top (known as the skin), side & rear windows, etc. Consider whether you want clear or tinted windows, and whether you have full doors, half doors, or no doors. Different kits will provide what you need to accommodate the various door options. We’ve saved the best for last. Jeep has never offered a power folding Jeep top, but now Rugged Ridge does. Imagine being able to push a button and have the top fold back within 30 seconds. No unzipping windows and figuring out where to store them. No fire drills when it begins to rain.

XHD Replacement Tops

New and improved XHD Replacement Jeep soft tops from Rugged Ridge are now available with 50% thicker windows! Each fabric Soft Top is specifically designed to easily fit the factory original soft top hardware. Simply take off the old top and slip on the new. It’s just that easy! These new designs feature reinforced stitching on the heavy “pull” areas as well as heavy duty 30 mil thick windows! All XHD Soft Tops feature durable vinyl coated polyester and cotton fabric that will stand the test of time. All sewn seams use marine grade thread to make sure it does not deteriorate or discolor in the sun. Each seam is literally “welded shut” with durable heat seal tape to keep moisture out while keeping the original look of the top intact. Attaching the Rugged Ridge Jeep replacement top is easy with the factory original “belt rail” attachment method; simply tuck under the rail and go! All our tops feature two choices of door options as Jeep offered the 87 -06 Wranglers with upper soft doors or with full hard doors. Rugged Ridge makes a Replacement Top that fits either! Each top is backed by an industry leading 2 year limited warranty against manufacturer defects.

Zip-Out Windows
Get that safari look by zipping out the easily removable side and rear windows! Rugged Ridge also offers a handy Window Storage Bag to protect those windows from damage.

Tinted Window Models Available
With Rugged Ridge you do not have to pay a fortune for 31% tinted window option! Each window has been upgraded to 30 mil which is 50% thicker than other soft top brands! Rugged Ridge tinted Jeep windows last longer and keep the heat out! (Door windows are not tinted).

Island Jeep Tops and Pocket Island Jeep Tops

Island Tops
Provide the ultimate summer sun and rain protection with a Rugged Ridge Island Topper. Attaching the same way as our durable Summer Briefs, these full length tops provide protection from the elements for both the front and rear passengers. Rear attachment straps attach to the rear sport bar hoops on 92-06 Jeep Wranglers. Island Toppers for 76-91 Wranglers include an easy to attach rear bow. Island Tops for 97-06 Wranglers are designed to be used with an optional, no-drill Windshield Header for quick conversion from hard top to Summer Brief.

Pocket Island Tops
The most advanced summer soft top solution found on the market today, is the new Pocket Island Topper! This new design features tough diamond fabric combined with a pair of zipper front pockets (and one large rear pocket on 07-10 Wranglers) for the ultimate full featured top. Unlike other summer tops on the market, the Rugged Ridge design features wider side hook and loop fastener straps, a reinforced front section and extra heavy duty nylon tie down straps.

Pocket Briefs

Built directly into the Rugged Ridge Summer Brief to ensure a clean, tight fit. Constructed of durable soft top fabric for long life. Mesh Summer Briefs
Special UV treated mesh fabric blocks the heat while allowing the cool breeze to flow through. The special weave of the Rugged Ridge mesh brief/Island Topper is designed for strength and durability while providing open air protection from the sun’s heat. Available in two great styles; the Summer Brief that covers the front passengers and the “Island Topper” Island Topper that goes back to cover those rear seat passengers. Don’t forget the Jeep Header/Windshield channel needed to install these tops!

Summer Briefs
Custom designed for each body style, these “easy on, easy off” briefs provide protection from the hot sun and sudden showers. Each Rugged Ridge Summer Brief attaches to the factory center hoop and windshield with heavy-duty nylon straps to prevent flapping. Rear strap attachments have quick release fasteners so once your straps are set, they easily detach and re-attach. Wrangler models also incorporate thick hook and loop side attachments to further secure the top Summer Briefs for 97-06 Wranglers are designed to be used with a no-drill Windshield Header for quick conversion from hard top to Summer Brief.

Power Top

Have you heard all the buzz and excitement? Rugged Ridge® debuted the first ever electric Power Top for the JK Jeep® Wrangler. No more struggling for minutes to get your Jeep soft top up when the occasional thunderstorm catches you off guard. Our patent pending design allows the top to be lowered or raised in seconds with the simple push of a button. The Power Top Kit fits all 2007-2012 four door Wranglers and comes complete with sailcloth top, power top frame, hydraulics, wiring harness and installation packet. Rugged Ridge Jeep TJ Wrangler Bowless Top

Looking for a replacement top for your Jeep®? The Bowless Top from Rugged Ridge® is the most versatile Jeep® soft top on the market. It allows you to convert instantly from a full top to a summer brief, and eliminates the need for the bulky OE soft top frame. The Bowless Top fits snuggly over the factory roll bar for a more aerodynamic “fastback” look and eliminates the need for the OE soft top frame, but retains your factory door surrounds and tailgate bar. Convert to a summer brief by simply unzipping the side windows and folding them under the top’s skin.
