Hello there, my name is Al Azadi. This is my story about personal struggles and business challenges that led me to create DriveOffRoad.com. I am also the founder and owner of Omix-ADA and its family of brands: Rugged Ridge, Alloy USA, Precision Gear, and Outland Automotive. Our brands are known for their extensive range of products and excellent value. For nearly 20 years, I have been chasing my American dream in this amazing country, growing my small business by hard work, determination, and continuous education—earning each customer’s loyalty one by one.
Since the age of five, I had spent summers working in my father's Jeep dealership, where I discovered my passion for running a business in the automotive arena, especially Jeeps, and that passion prompted the start of my business, Omix-ADA. My father was more than a loved one; he was also my business coach whom I called upon for guidance, opinions, and business challenges. In July 2010 I suddenly lost my father due to diabetes and blood pressure complications. His passing hit me like a ton of bricks and circumstances beyond my control prevented me from returning to my homeland at the time. Not attending the funeral with my mother and sisters was the worst part and stopped me from gaining any real closure. This made my already difficult situation unbearable. I knew I had to deal with these emotional and psychological struggles head-on before they put me down, but how?
As a business, we raised the bar every year fueling the Jeep Aftermarket, but felt we were not getting full exposure from large retailers as it pertains to bringing all of our products to market. We have many products that still have not seen the light of day and enthusiasts do not even know some of these practical products exist. As our inventory swelled to the roof, we understood we could not rely solely on our large retail distributors as they have many other products to show, and our brands cannot always be their priority. For these reasons, we knew we needed to find new ways to introduce consumers to our full range of products, but how do we do this?
One quiet Sunday afternoon in late December, it came to me as I thought to myself, I can address all my challenges in one plan by creating a separate retail company. This company would expand our product and brand awareness directly among Jeepers and offroaders, and through this exposure we could grow the market for our current Omix customers, a principle that is very important to me.
So, this is how DriveOffRoad.com was born. We will operate at a high moral foundation, with integrity and care for everyone we do business with. We will not make empty promises and we always shoot straight:
